THE HISTORY OF THE MUSEUM-PARK  

The first discoveries of dinosaurs’ fossils and eggshells, on the Mas d’Azil and it region come from the 10th century, thanks to the Pouech abbot.
He has been the first one to realise a study and a geological description of the Mas d’Azil and it region.  

It is during the 1990 years, that Gilles EYCHENNE and Jean PAULIN have made the first fossils discoveries.
Then Gilles EYCHENNE put forward a project to the community for the creation of a museographical space in open air
The project was launched thanks to the opening of the museum-park “the forest of dinosaurs” on the August the 13th of 2005.
