THE RECONSTRUCTIONS

After examination, the paleontological pieces are selected for the audience presentation.

This choice is made in function of exhibition theme’s idea.

The presentation’s benchmarks are also made contingent on the conservation’s quality of the fossil, and sometimes it is necessary to show a cast instead of the original piece.
We also search aesthetic qualities and good readability to make the museography more fun.

After the plaster cast, the pieces are covered with paints to replicate the original colours. Natural clay and pigment end the realism of the piece and give a copy conform to the original piece.

So treated, some pieces will serve of base for the reconstruction of the dinosaur’s skull.

A modeliste sculptor intervenes and recreates the missing pieces.

The restitution can be from the skull reconstruction to the dinosaur appearance reconstruction, with skin, scales and sometimes feathers !
